….Again.
I cannot even beging to count how many diets I have tried. Low carb, no carb, Master Cleanse, and even fasting.
With any diet, I see the same result…FRUSTRATION.
Anyone who knows me knows I can EAT! I am not the kind of girl that will shy away from food and order the salad. In fact, I remember being on a date and ordering a Burger, fries, soda, AND a side of Chicken Wings…No shame in my game.
And those same people who know me also know I don’t like to exercise. I hate to sweat, and I run on only 3 occasions:
A.) Someone is chasing me.
B.) The phone is ringing.
C.) There is a 50% off sale at Victoria’s Secret.
With my love for food, and my laziness in the workout department, I am preventing myself from being the confident gal I used to be. I used to look good, and feel good too. These days, I seem to get the same statement from people trying to make me feel better:
“You look good for having 2 kids”
Really? Is that a compliment or an insult?
You don’t tell Chelsea Handler she’s funny for being a Jew. She’s just funny. And I don’t want to look good for having kids. I just want to look good. Even more-so, I want to feel good again.
What are your tricks to lose weight? Do you stick to a Weight Loss Plan/Diet?

Honestly what you don’t realize is that your working out through out the whole day chasing after two kids its
equivalent to 2-3 hours in the gym stop beating your self up you are a sexy woman.January 22nd, 2010 at 7:36 am -
Aw, honey that’s why I love you. But you and I both know I don’t chase after them. Just look at what they get into while I’m watching my soaps. =P

I’m sorry, but the ONE and ONLY “trick” to losing weight and “feeling good again” is diet AND exercise. There is no way around the fact that, in order to get rid of excess weight, you HAVE to burn more calories per day than you take in. That’s just science and human biology and there’s no way around it, unfortunately.
Here’s an example of why that’s so difficult; A Whopper (with cheese), medium fries and a medium coke is around 1,500 calories. Now, in order to burn off just that ONE meal, you would have to do about 4.5 hours of yardwork OR run FULL SPEED for about 2 hours OR, if you’d rather walk at a decent pace, you can do that for about 5 hours.
Having said that, I think you look fine, just like the previous comment said (assuming that’s your husband). But, if you don’t think that’s the case, and you want to do something about it, you have to order the salad instead of the burger, fries, pop and wings. And, you gotta get active and sweat. And you have to be consistent with it. Sorry I couldn’t have better news involving some magical pill.

Thanks, Jeremy! I realize that it’s going to take a lot of work and discipline on my part. Thanks for breaking it down!
Ugh, why is fast food sooooo good?! lol

Haha! Yeah that fast food is a killer. You’d be surprised how much easier it is to lose weight JUST by avoiding that and drinking water or juice instead of soda. Replace the bag of chips with a bag of carrots (or whatever vegetable you like). That means no cheating too. It’s not okay to go grab a Big Mac just because you’ve been good for a week.
I know because I struggle with it too. I’ve been starting and stopping diet and workout regiments for the last 6 months. I’m fortunate to have a good enough metabolism to keep me where I’m at or I’d probably be knocking on the door to 300 with my eating/doing nothing habits. I know HOW to do it but being lazy is so much easier. Haha!!January 22nd, 2010 at 10:21 am -
Oh I know lots about laziness. Staying at home with the babies may be stressful, but at times (like naptime) when I can squeeze in a 30-60 minute workout, I’d much rather plop on the sofa and watch reality shows. My problem is discipline….I need to work on that ASAP.
AEven though working out can be annoying, I def. feel the difference with feeling good and energized…so it’s worth it.
Now, to keep my eyes from wondering to the Big Mac.January 22nd, 2010 at 11:50 am -
How funny, but I think I say this everytime…I know exactly what you mean. During naptime I don’t want to exercise. And I hate sweating. And I love me some junk food..or any food all the time for that matter. So not for a certain weight, but for fitness and health, I need to do something about my laziness.

It’s hard to stick with a diet. Being busy and having small funds are usually my problem. There are good calorie counting apps if u have an iPhone.
