I want an Ipad, Mommy!

Yesterday Little Miss Spice, my Kindergartner, came home from school. We had a snack, did her homework, and relaxed a bit. While cooking dinner, she came into the kitchen and asked “Mommy, can I have an Ipad?” Without thinking twice, I assumed she meant a notepad, since she had a pen in her hands.

“Do you mean your notepad?” I asked her.

“No…an Ipad.” she corrected me.

I wondered where the hell  she saw an Ipad, a commercial maybe? So I thought I would ask her what it was to make sure we were talking about the same Ipad.

Sure enough she cleared that up by answering “Its like a laptop computer but it is flat , just like a notebook and it has a touchscreen and you can open all kinds of things on it.”

While picking up my jaw from the floor, I asked “Where did you see an Ipad honey?”

“At school” she answered. ” ___ brought one in for Show & Tell. Can I have one? PLEASE????”

Are you kidding me ??!!?

A freaking 6 year old brought in a Apple Ipad to Kindergarten for Show and Tell? What happened to teddy bears and hot wheels?

Am I just being an old fart? Am I one of those parents that isn’t hip to the game?

Does your 6 year old have an Ipad?

Baby Number 3?

Before you get all congratulatory, I am NOT preggers.

With that being said. I’ve been wanting to be preggers for almost a year now…and this time, Hubby may be on board.

So we were watching a movie the other night with a cute pregnant woman, and I’m guessing this triggered his “Let’s have another” attitude.

Now if you know my hubby, you will know one child was way more than enough for him. Then we had an unexpected second, and he was undeniably DONE making babies. If he had it his way, I would’ve been “fixed” when they cut me open for the second birth.

I, on the other hand, was secretly planning #3 when I hadn’t even left the hospital with #2. Don’t judge me.

I  loved every little thing about being pregnant. The growing belly, the kicks, the way hubby looked at me while I was cooking with a stomach the size of a watermelon.

So what’s the problem?

It was easy to bring baby #1 a sibling. But now that we’ve got 2, it’s a big change to an already comfortable family. Are we ready for that kind of change?

#2 will be going to school next year, so it will be easier to deal with the baby alone this time. But will I want to start over right after both girls are in school full time?

I know if I don’t have another, I might regret it. But when is the Right time?

How many children do have? Do want more?

Move Over, Lady Gaga!!!

Anyone who knows Little Miss Sugar knows that she isn’t herself without a tutu…

or a crown…

or plastic heels.

For about 6 months now, my 2 year old has worn a tutu ( or something of it’s nature) on top of her clothes that I pick out for her. Every.Single.Day. she has multiple outfit changes, and a few occasional wardrobe malfunctions. What started out as being adorable has turned into a “What the hell is wrong with my child” confusion.

Allow me to provide you with some insight.

She dresses up at the park….

She dresses up to play in the house…

She dresses up while crying…..

She dresses up while drinking her milk….

She dresses up to play soccer….

She dresses up to go to sleep…

She dresses up to lose at “Spongebob Ants in your pants”…

She even dresses up to do my….AHEM…I mean some chores.

Not even 3 years into life, she’s had more outfits than Lady Gaga…..

Do Your kids like to Dress up?

She got a new bike from Nana and her Aunt….

We painted pictures with our new paints and canvases (Courtesy of Carlos!)

We played at Chuck E Cheese’s

We went to an Indoor Amusement park…FUN FUN FUN!!!

We rode bikes…..IN A YARD!!!! (NY doesn’t give us that choice.)

We saw a 3D Movie….and sat through the WHOLE thing!

All in all, our trip was a good one. We miss our family back home, but we are happy to be back. =)

My Baby Turned 6!

I cannot believe I am so cliche….but time really flies!!!!! =(

I feel like I just brought my baby home from the hospital…all wrapped in her pink blanket.

Feels like just yesterday she held on to my finger….she needed me to feed her, bathe her, and put her to sleep…

And now, she is 6 years old… and trying to call me “MOM” instead of mommy.

So yes. I am cliche. And Time really does Fly…
